Let's start this off by saying that my mother is a saint and picked me up a 12 pack of Saranac when I told her I was coming home. As an added bonus, some genius at Saranac found out that a pounder, pint can, of theirs would fit in a normal 12 pack case. There is no point to this other than I now have more beer than expected, which is ideal

Everything involving beer is genius. Beer cans in a beer case? Yes! Beer for pilots? Yes!

Never heard of Saranac. US or foreign? East coast or Midwest I assume.

East Coast. Utica, NY to be specific.

I want to become a pilot just to drink that beer! (As I assume you must provide a valid pilots license to purchase)

Thanks. I just had a friend, who was seeing family in NY state call me and ask me if I would like some Stroh's beer. (I grew up in Michigan, so I said, bring me a 6 pack.
He brings me two 30 packs. Jeez Louise, I don't like it that much.

I'm a Saranac fan since I tried them earlier this year. Good variety and independent, my favorite!
Is this something they do in all their 12 packs now? If so, even more my favorite!

They do have some really great stuff and being semi local is something I always love. I'm not sure if this is every 12 pack. This is the Variety pack out right now and the can is a legacy IPA for their 125th anniversary.

Actually, this was an intentional promotion:

In commemoration of this special anniversary, F.X. Matt Brewing Co. is introducing the first-ever Brewer’s Dozen for a limited time. This unique package includes 12 Saranac beers with a bonus pint of the limited edition Legacy IPA .
Still really cool though!

Also, Saranac is pretty awesome, especially as a session beer. We had a saying in college "Saranac doesn't make a bad beer" since you could pick up any of the variety packs and not get stuck with something awful.
